Madras College F.P. Girls’ Club

It is with great regret that we have to announce that the Madras College F.P. Girls' Club disbanded in August 2024. After 116 years since it began in 1908 it has become impossible to continue as no committee could be formed.

The FP Girls’ Club exists to promote friendship and association among former pupils of the school and to take an interest in the activities of Madras College.

We meet informally on the first Tuesday of every month for coffee and a chat.  We also organise several social events throughout the year to foster old and new friendships.  These include a putting competition which takes place on The Himalayas Putting Green in June each year, an afternoon tea in August; and the Annual Lunch held in St Andrews in November.  You can view the programme for the current year here.

As custodian of over a hundred years’ worth of archival material (we celebrated our centenary in 2008/9) and with a keen interest in the current activities of the school, we aim to support and celebrate its ongoing success.  Over the years we have provided prizes and donations towards students’ activities.  The Archives have a record of the history of the Club.

We are always delighted to welcome new members – any FP Girls are eligible to join. Teachers of the school, past and present, are also eligible for membership.

If you wish to join please complete the Membership Form and send it to the Treasurer at the address given on the form or contact the Secretary erikarns@aol.com to find out more.
