The Madras pupil who won the
British Boys’ Championship in 1963. The previous St Andrews boy to win
that title was Ian McDonald in 1932.
Freedom of the St Andrews Links has been granted only on special
occasions in the history of the Links. Alex Soutar is the only person
to receive it for golfing achievement.
