Ralph D Rattray was involved in Golf, Rugby, Cricket, Gymnastics and Athletics in his time at Madras between 1905 to 1908.  There is no mention that we can find after June 1908.

In the census of 1901 he was the son of Wellwood and Annie Rattray living at 7 Berkeley Terrace in the Barony district of Glasgow  with a brother and two sisters.  He was 10 years old in 1901;  his father was a landscape painter.

He served in World War 1 with the 5th Battalion Scottish Rifles (Cameronians) and died 18 May 1917 aged 28. He is buried in Glasgow (Sandymount) Cemetery.

The Commonwealth War Graves website lists his family details as being the son of Wellwood and Jemina Douglas Rattray; husband of Elizabeth M. McCusker Rattray, of 355, Wellshot Rd., Tollcross, Glasgow. Born at Glasgow.
