Brother of Gilmour. The family owned Armits Bakery in Church Street. Jack was a great adventurer and joined the Gold Rush to the Klondike. When there he carried a gun and upon return to St Andrews on retiral he had many great stories of his adventures.

He is buried in the Eastern Cemetery in St Andrews.
